Most And Least Affordable States For Child Care

The cost of child care is just plain expensive. In some states families have spent more in child care than they will on that same childs college tuition.  In nineteen states and D.C., the average cost of infant care was higher than $10,000.

Least Affordable
1. New York - Average Annual Cost of Infant Care: $14,009.
 
2. Minnesota - Average Annual Cost of Infant Care: $13,579.
 
3. Oregon - Average Annual Cost of Infant Care: $11,079.
 
4. Colorado - Average Annual Cost of Infant Care: $12,621.
 
5. Hawaii - Average Annual Cost of Infant Care: $12,876.
 
 
Most Affordable
1. Mississippi - Average Annual cost of Infant Care: $4,591.
 
2. Alabama - Average Annual Cost of Infant Care: $5,356.
 
3. Louisiana - Average Annual Cost of Infant Care: $5,901.
 
4. South Dakota - Average Annual Cost of Infant Care: $5,947. 
 
5. South Carolina - Average Annual Cost of Infant Care: $5,855.
